We're now looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Public API team. The team owns how customers get Quartr's data into their own systems: our REST API, webhooks, and Snowflake data shares. We're also building search and an MCP server so customers and their AI agents can query transcripts, reports, and slides directly.

You'll design, build, and run these products, with a high bar for reliability, performance, and developer experience. Our customers build on top of what we ship, so getting the details right matters.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain the APIs and services that deliver Quartr's data to customers.

• Evolve the API with care: versioning, backwards compatibility, and clear documentation.

• Build data delivery beyond REST, including webhooks, Snowflake data shares, search, and tools for AI agents.

• Own the reliability, performance, and security of your services in production.

• Work with product, data, and customer-facing teams to turn customer needs into features.

• You are a strong problem-solver with keen attention to detail.

• You take ownership of what you build, from design to production and capable of delivering high-quality solutions.

• You communicate clearly and work well in a collaborative team.
  

Tech 

Required

• Backend development experience, ideally with NestJS and TypeScript.

• Experience designing and maintaining APIs used by customers or other teams.

• A solid track record of working with databases in production environments.

A plus, but not required

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with webhooks, data pipelines, and event-driven systems, such as CDC and Kafka.

• Experience with search engines such as OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.

• Experience with Snowflake or other data warehouses.

• Familiarity with MCP or building tools for AI agents.
