Security & Compliance Specialist
Quartr is a software company serving the world of finance. Every day, leading companies and financial institutions worldwide use our products to research faster and understand deeper.
For too long, markets have been obsessed with numbers. Everyone has access to the same quantitative data, while qualitative insights – the words, the signals, the nuance – have remained mostly in the shadows. We make those insights accessible, searchable, and actionable.
Our products are used daily by some of the most sophisticated teams in finance and tech, including major hedge funds and Magnificent 7 companies, and over a million finance professionals have downloaded our mobile app.
We're backed by some of the smartest minds in our industry and growing fast at a global scale, and we're still at the very beginning of what we expect to be a multi-decade journey.
As we continue to scale globally and work with increasingly sophisticated enterprise customers, security and compliance are becoming even more important to how we operate and how we build trust.
We’re looking for a Security & Compliance Specialist to own and develop our security governance and compliance program. You’ll drive our SOC 2 work, make our controls and evidence collection more scalable, and work closely with teams across Quartr to ensure security is embedded in how we operate.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll own the details, improve the systems around them, and help us avoid turning security and compliance into bureaucracy.
What you'll do
Drive our SOC 2 Type II program end-to-end, including audit preparation, evidence collection, stakeholder coordination, and remediation.
Own and continuously improve our security control matrix, ensuring controls have clear owners, evidence, and are operating as intended.
Automate evidence collection and other recurring compliance activities to reduce manual work and keep us continuously audit-ready.
Own and maintain our information security policies, standards, and related documentation.
Work closely with Engineering, IT, People, Finance, Legal, and other teams to implement and improve security controls across the company.
Own and coordinate customer security and due diligence questionnaires, helping enterprise customers understand Quartr's security posture.
Track security risks, control gaps, and remediation activities through to completion.
Continuously improve our security governance, tooling, controls, and processes as Quartr grows.
Who you are
You have hands-on experience working with SOC 2 Type II or similar security and compliance frameworks.
You understand how security controls work in practice, not just how they look in an audit or policy document.
You are comfortable owning control frameworks, policies, evidence, risk tracking, and audit coordination.
You look for ways to automate repetitive compliance work rather than solving the same problem manually every audit cycle.
You understand the fundamentals of security in a modern SaaS environment, including identity and access management, cloud security, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and vendor risk.
You communicate clearly and can work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You are self-driven, pragmatic, and comfortable taking ownership in an environment where processes are still evolving.
You care about doing things properly, but know that good security should enable the business rather than slow it down.
Preferred technical skills
Nice to have
Experience with GRC and compliance automation platforms such as Vanta, Drata, Secureframe, or similar.
Experience with additional frameworks such as ISO 27001.
Experience completing enterprise customer security reviews, DDQs, or security questionnaires.
Experience working in B2B SaaS, fintech, financial services, or another security-conscious environment.
Familiarity with AWS and the security considerations of modern cloud infrastructure.
What we offer
Do your life's work: Build security foundations for products used by some of the world's most sophisticated finance professionals.
Join the foundational team: We're still early in a long journey, giving you significant influence over how security and compliance evolve as Quartr scales.
Real ownership: You'll own meaningful areas end-to-end and have the opportunity to improve how we work, not simply maintain existing processes.
Best idea wins: You'll work with ambitious people who care about quality, clear thinking, and solving problems without unnecessary hierarchy.
Office culture with flexibility: We value working closely together while maintaining flexibility for focused work when needed.
Compensation and well-being: Competitive compensation, benefits, equity exposure, and support for your health and well-being
