Data Engineer (Analytics)
Quartr is a software company serving the world of finance. Every day, leading companies and financial institutions worldwide use our products to research faster and understand deeper.
For too long, markets have been obsessed with numbers. Everyone has access to the same quantitative data, while qualitative insights – the words, the signals, the nuance – have remained mostly in the shadows. We make those insights accessible, searchable, and actionable.
Our products are used daily by some of the most sophisticated teams in finance and tech, including major hedge funds and Magnificent 7 companies, and over a million finance professionals have downloaded our mobile app.
We're backed by some of the smartest minds in our industry and growing fast at a global scale, and we're still at the very beginning of what we expect to be a multi-decade journey.
We're now looking for a data engineer with experience in analytics to join our growing team. You'll be responsible for enabling the organization to make informed decisions by making data more accessible to all internal stakeholders.
What you'll do
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines
Build and maintain interactive dashboards for product, operational, and performance analytics, cross-referencing data from multiple sources such as MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Amazon Athena, and logs
Dive deep into structured and unstructured data to answer data-related questions
Analyze and optimize queries
Create alerts from dashboards
Automate internal monthly reports
Maintain an "LLM style" chat used by the company staff to answer product-related questions internally and externally
Maintain a Change-Data-Capture system that tracks real-time changes of specific tables of the production database, which feeds our API product, real-time analytics dashboards, and trigger document processing jobs
Develop and monitor forecasting models to predict the number of earnings calls
Get to work close to Account Executives who close API deals and Data Controllers that monitor the quality of the data assets
Who you are
Have experience building and maintaining data pipelines and doing analytics tasks
Think in terms of data models, data quality, and ownership when designing ETL/ELT jobs
Are comfortable collaborating with product, analytics, QA, and non-technical stakeholders
